Les Hunt
Executive Director
Les joined Sierra Pointe in 1999 after serving as executive director at The Springs of Mesa in Mesa, AZ. He has been in the retirement field since 1989. In his leadership role at Sierra Pointe he is responsible for the day-to-day operation of 216 apartments in both independent and assisted living, and is directly responsible for supervision of all staff. Originally from Los Angeles, Les attended Portland State University and the Oregon Institute of Technology. He and his family live in Surprise.
Tracy L. Colburn
Assistant Executive Director
Tracy assumed the role of Assistant Executive Director in September of 2000. Originally from Newark, New Jersey, Tracy has fifteen years of experience in the retirement industry. Her role at Sierra Pointe encompasses the supervision of transportation, housekeeping, Just For You and concierges as well as the billing and assisting the executive director in the operation of the building. Tracy received a degree in Business and Marketing at the University of Phoenix. She and her family live in Gilbert.
Ellen Rosen
Marketing Director
Ellen is a native of Arizona and brings 23 years of sales, marketing and operations experience in the hospitality industry to Sierra Pointe. Her hospitality industry career involved providing services for conventions and planning corporate meetings which enabled her to interact with guests from all walks of life and provided the satisfaction of seeing people leave with smiles. Her role at Sierra Pointe encompasses advertising in print and electronic media, promotional events, sales management, marketing programs and public relations.
Millie Wilkins
Marketing Representative
Millie Wilkins is a native of Arizona. She came to Sierra Pointe in March of 2008, bringing with her a diverse marketing background. Millie has coordinated marketing efforts for the healthcare, television, airline and senior retirement industries for the past 28 years of her career. As Marketing Representative she is responsible for the sales and promotion of Sierra Pointe. Millie assists with the production of initial community information distribution, tours and move-in coordination. She is a people person and stays very involved in several non-profit organizations. Millie has three daughters and resides in Scottsdale.
Barb Zelinski
Food and Beverage Director
Barbara joined Sierra Pointe in 2000 as its first Director of Food and Beverage. She previously had 18 years experience in commercial, corporate and retirement food operations. Prior to joining Sierra Pointe, Barbara held a similar position at the Springs of East Mesa. Her responsibilities at Sierra Pointe include overseeing the operations of The Pinnacle, Sierra Pointe's club-style, white-linen dining room, and the Camelback Bistro and Lounge. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Barbara holds a degree in both home economics and history. She and her family live in Cave Creek.
Jesse Sarres
Chef
Jesse has been an integral part of the Sierra Pointe's fine dining restaurant, The Pinnacle, since May of 2004. He began diversifying his culinary experience at a very young age with the help of his mother, who sparked his interest by teaching him some basics of home cooking. Jesse was well on his way with his first restaurant position at age 14. After several years in the foodservice industry, he graduated with a degree in Culinary Arts from the renowned program at Grand Rapids Community College in his home state of Michigan. Jesse has also experienced the wonders of world travel, studying the culture and cuisine of Barcelona, Lisbon, Istanbul and the Greek Isles. He has a love for quality foods, from classical cooking to regional gastronomy. He takes pride in finding the perfect balance of seasonings and ingredients to create the desired flavor. Our chef has gained experience at many quality establishments, such as The Peninsular Club in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Most recently, he worked in the banquets department at The Pointe South Mountain Resort, the valley's own four diamond hotel destination. Jesse and his family live in Scottsdale.
Anna Tatzmann
Life Enrichment Director
Anna joined Sierra Pointe in November of 2006 as the Activities Assistant and was promoted to Activities Director in April of 2007. Anna moved to Arizona from Michigan for change of climate and career in April of 2006. She attended Northern Michigan University and has been an Orthodontic assistant for eight years prior to working here at Sierra Pointe. Her responsibilities at Sierra Pointe include planning and overseeing the activities in both Independent and Assisted Living. Anna and her family live in Scottsdale.
Louise Waites
Assisted Living Manager
Since May of 2000, Louise has overseen the service plans for all of the community's assisted living residents and is responsible for the management and supervision of the department's caregivers. Prior to joining Sierra Pointe, Louise was a nurse at Loyalton Assisted Living, where she was responsible for resident health care issues and staff supervision. Her educational background includes coursework in healthcare administration and an undergraduate degree in Gerontology. She is a licensed practical nurse and has completed a certificate of study from ALFA University's Nursing Program of Studies and has received her assisted living manager's license in September 2001. Louise and her family live in north Phoenix.
